Over 23,000 artworks received by the 4th Fadjr International Festival of Visual Arts



Submissions continue for cartoon and film on "Islamic Awakening"



Over 23,200 artworks from 5,351 artists were delivered to the 4th Fadjr International Festival of Visual Arts.                                                                         

According to a report published by the Festival's Public Relations, Mahmoud Shalouei, Director General of Visual Arts and the President of the Festival's Policy Council Said: "The 4th Fadjr International Festival of Visual Arts has generated an overwhelming interest among the artists."

Pointing to the growth in the number of entries in the 4th Fadjr International Festival of Visual Arts, Shalouei said: "In this session the Festival's secretariat has so far received 23,279 works by 5,351 artists while the deadline for submission of works is not over."

The Director General of Visual Arts added: "So far 9,669 photos, 4223 paintings, 2,783 posters, 2,028 illustrations, 1,113 calligraphic works, 1,641 cartoons, 901 miniatures, 511 ceramic and pottery works, 414 statues and 41 documentary films on visual arts have been submitted to the Secretariat."

The Director General of Visual Arts continued: "At each event since the 1st Fadjr International Festival of Visual Arts we have witnessed a growth both in the quality and the quantity of works. This clearly underlines the status and importance of the Festival among artists."

The President of Policy Council of the 4th Fadjr International Festival of Visual Arts continued: "Since the deadline for submission of works in the cartoon and visual arts documentary films on the special theme of "Islamic Awakening" is not over, it is obvious that the number of submissions will rise further."

Participants in the special section of "Islamic Awakening" can submit their cartoons by 15th January 2012, their articles by 20th January 2012 and the visual arts documentaries by 25th January 2012 to the Secretariat."

The primary selection of works of the 4th Fadjr International Festival of Visual Arts began on Sunday 8th January 2012 with the selection committee composed of Shirin Haji Karimloo, Nargues Haririan and Mohammad Bahrami going over 414 statues to choose the final entries in this section.

The 4th Fadjr International Festival of Visual Arts will be held from January 30th to March 4th this year in the fields of painting, calligraphy, miniature, poster, photography, ceramic arts, sculpture, illustration, cartoon, visual arts documentary films and conference.
